1. Joffrey Baratheon
Joffrey may be the most hated character in the entire show. This spoiled prince turned king spent his time on the throne making life worse for everyone around him. He killed Ned Stark unnecessarily, abused Sansa both physically and psychologically, and took joy in hurting and killing innocent prostitutes.
After four years of his reign, Joffrey was poisoned on his own wedding night. After someone poisons his wine, he chokes to death. This moment became one of the most celebrated in all of Game of Thrones, as watching the tyrant die brought fans so much joy.
Joffrey's death takes the top spot not because of how horrible he was, but because of how beloved the scene is in spite of what it led to. Because of Joffrey's death, Tyrion was arrested, Oberyn was killed, and Tyrion had to Westeros. Had Joffrey survived, none of this would have happened, yet fans still love watching him choke.
