Game Of Thrones: 12 Things You Learn Rewatching Season 2
3. Robb, NO
Even more than the foreshadowing of the Red Wedding, though, is the sheer sense of dread that comes with Robb and Talisa's marriage. You can understand it, certainly: whereas in the books Robb becomes involved with Jeyne Westerling off-page, here we get to see him really fall in love with Talisa.
That doesn't make it a smart decision though. Even on first watch, it seems dangerous. Knowing where it leads, it's not only stupid, but tragic. While you kind of want to invest in their love story and believe they might have a chance, it's impossible not to keep urging Robb to not do this. It's 10 episodes where you're watching him take all of the steps that will lead him towards his death, powerless to do anything about it.
A lot is made of Catelyn's decision to release Jaime Lannister - and that's another 'don't do it' moment on rewatch - and while that is an issue, Robb is the King in the North and the one who needs to take the most responsibility. This really was the day he lost this war.
