Season 3 wasn't the first time Daenerys uttered the word 'dracarys', having said it in the House of the Undying to kill Pyat Pree, but it is the most memorable and iconic, with good reason.

Dany's arc over Seasons 3-4 is one of her best on the show, as she moves around Slaver's Bay and frees the people of various cities, but it's the long-game she plays in Astapor with Kraznys that's most impressive of all. It smartly lets it build and build by having everyone think she cannot understand his insults, which are delivered in High Valyrian, before she finally turns: revealing her identity and grasp of the language, she frees the slaves, and has Drogon kill Kraznys by saying 'dracarys'.

It's Dany's biggest moment since the Season 1 finale, but with even more power: then, it was being in awe of something magical. Here, it's the moment she really shows just how badass and in control of her destiny she is, establishing her path through Slaver's Bay that will teach her how to be a leader and eventually reach Westeros. The storylines that come after don't always work, and she's also had other great moments, but in terms of power, importance, and visuals, 'dracarys' remains her high point.
