Game Of Thrones: 15 Early Predictions For Season 8

1. Jon Sits On The Iron Throne

Assuming he doesn't sacrifice himself to confirm Dany as Azor Ahai (it's very possible), and that theory that he'll have to take the Night's King's place to maintain balance in the Seven Kingdoms, Jon is definitely set to win the Great Game.

Game of Thrones might as well be called Game Of Underdogs, as George RR Martin's penchant for the little guys striking back has driven a significant number of important narrative threads in the series. We've seen unexpected victories masterminded by bastards, cast-offs, "little monsters" and Arya Stark, where strength of character and conviction matters a hell of a lot more than size of army or wealth.

With that in mind, there's no way anyone other than Jon could emerge as the victor in the hunt for the Iron Throne. And while he may find the idea somewhat distasteful, Jon has precedent for taking over where his leadership is needed against his own preferences. Power seems to thrust itself upon him (though it is definitely earned), and it would definitely fit to see him win the Throne almost without even wanting it.
