Game Of Thrones: 15 Unforgettable Scenes From Season 7

7. The Dragonpit Standoff

In its best moments, the large group scenes in the first season of Game of Thrones felt like a play - grand, theatrical, and packed with drama underneath the surface.

In a way, the Dragonpit standoff was a throwback to those early days, reminding us that the most thrilling thing you can do in a show like this is just throw the entire cast into the same room together and watch the drama play out.

While much of this scene was functional in nature, it still found time for a lot of incredible moments. The Hound and what remains of The Mountain staring at each other eye to eye is viscerally thrilling, even if the Mountain has changed actors several times since the two characters last shared a scene.

The stakes feel a little abstract throughout, but seeing the entire cast in one place is just as engrossing as you'd expect. And it must be said: Dany sure knows how to make a dramatic entrance.
