Game Of Thrones: 20 Awesome Characters Who Were TOTALLY Screwed Over

5. Arya Stark

Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) was one of the show's highlights in the first few seasons, but lost her way thereafter. Her season five/six story was absolutely awful and her season seven one was weak too.

She's also, let's be honest, a horrible person and a psychopathic killer who lacks any sort of likeability, in spite of Maisie Williams' strong performance.

She felt relevant again in season eight, but she was still poorly served. As mentioned before, everything involving her and Gendry needed to go and it shouldn't have have been her who killed the Night King. Afterwards, she and Sandor went to King's Landing to get revenge on Cersei and the Mountain respectively.

The pair somehow got into the Red Keep, despite everything collapsing and burning around them, and Sandor talked her out of her revenge. In fairness, this was a good scene, but it was still rushed and no other scenes built up to this.

Then, in the finale, she randomly left Westeros to explore uncharted lands, despite having never expressed any desire to be an explorer. Also, throughout season eight she'd talked about the importance of her family but then she just ditched them.

What Should've Happened: Arya should've had an arc about realising the wastefulness of vengeance (hinted at by the aforementioned scene with the Hound) and she should've remained at Winterfell to work with her sister (or King's Landing to work with Jon if he'd become king).
