Game Of Thrones: 20 Awesome Characters Who Were TOTALLY Screwed Over

4. Jon Snow

Jon Snow is a great character who was really, really well-written... right up until season eight, in which he was side-lined. To echo that infamous explanation from David Benioff that "Daenerys kinda forgot about the Iron Fleet", Game of Thrones kinda forgot about quite a few other things. Most prominently, it forgot about character arcs.

Everything that had been built up about this noble, lovable character went nowhere. He did almost nothing in the Battle of Winterfell, he didn't even interact with the Night King, the widely-hyped revelations about his true parentage didn't have any particular bearing on the story and the only things he actually did was repeatedly say "I don't want it!" (about the Iron Throne), "You are my queen!" to Daenerys and then kill her in episode six.

Then, he ended back at the Night's Watch... in other words, back to square one. He deserved a far better and more heroic ending than this.

What Should've Happened: He should've been involved in the Night King's defeat far more and frankly, he would've been the best choice for the new king; after all, it was where his story always seemed to be going and Bran becoming king was just a bit too random. Besides, who wouldn't want to see this great man as king?
