Game Of Thrones: 20 Greatest Performances
19. Jerome Flynn - Bronn
Bronn is one of those characters who shouldn't have worked. After all, he's a cocky, self-serving sellsword at the end of the day yet ultimately, he's just terrific.
An absolutely joyous character to watch, while the writing helped a lot (which, prior to season eight, was mostly superb), Jerome Flynn's performance really took Bronn to the next level.
He was an absolute charisma machine throughout the show's run and even though the character was very poorly used in season eight, Flynn was every bit as good as he's always been. He gave one of the most purely entertaining performances on the show and proved to be a great source of comic relief as well.
There's a good reason why Bronn got far more screen-time in the show than he does in the books. He was simply too good to leave out and this was largely thanks to just how perfectly Jerome Flynn judged this performance.
