Game Of Thrones: 4 Ups And 6 Downs From The Season Finale

8. Myrcella Is Poisoned - Down

The end of this season heralds the end of the Dorne storyline, something most viewers will surely be thankful of. There was, however, one sting in the tale. Princess Myrcella and Prince Trystane are all happily set to leave with Jaime and Bronn, when Ellaria - who sent the initial threat to the Lannisters that kicked-off the whole arc - gave the princess a kiss goodbye. On board the boat sailing back to King€™s Landing, Jaime finally reveals the truth to Myrcella about being her father. In turn, she claims that deep down she€™s always known, and that she€™s happy about it. It€™s a sweet moment for the two characters, or at least as sweet as the father bonding with the daughter he had with his twin sister can be. Obviously the show can€™t allow a nice moment without immediately countering it with an awful once, and this is no exception. Blood starts pouring out of Myrcella€™s nose, and for the second time Jaime is left holding one of his children as they die. It then cuts back to Ellaria and the Sand Snakes, with the latter wiping her mouth and taking the antidote to the poison she used on Myrcella. That€™s two of Jaime and Cersei€™s three children dead now, so it looks like at least that part of Maggy the Frog€™s prophecy is coming true. Things don't bode well for King Tommen.
