Game Of Thrones: 5 Best Moments From First Of His Name

1. Lysa Reveals The Truth

We haven€™t seen the Eyrie since all the way back in the first season, so it was great to finally return there in this episode. Petyr smuggles Sansa into the castle where they are greeted enthusiastically by Lysa Arryn and her son Robin. Lysa seems happy enough to see her niece, and for once it looks like Sansa will be catching a break. Once she is escorted to her chambers though, things turn uncomfortable fast. Lysa showers Littlefinger with affection, even pressing him to get married that very moment, an idea of which he is clearly unenthusiastic about. She then reminds him of her loyalty; that she poisoned Jon Arryn at his behest and told Catelyn it was the Lannisters. He finally gives in to shut her up. Here we have another scene this season revealing the extent of which Littlefinger is involved with the entire plot. All this time we were lead to believe that the Lannisters killed Jon Arryn in order to cover up his knowledge of their incest. They had good reason to after all, so it€™s not so hard to believe. Turns out we presumed wrong and the Lannisters aren€™t quite as guilty as we thought. Littlefinger manipulated Lysa to ignite a conflict that would engulf all of Westeros; a conflict of which provided him the perfect cover to climb the ladder of power. Think about it; he wouldn€™t have been made Lord of the Vale if it wasn€™t for the Lannisters' need to forge allies during wartime. This revelation shows the extent to which Littlefinger will go to get on the Iron Throne, and makes you question the nature of his budding relationship with Sansa.
