Game Of Thrones: 5 Ups And 5 Downs From The Dance Of Dragons
10. Jaime Gets His Way - Up
To say the Dorne plot has been travelling at snail pace this season would be an insult to mollusks, with very little happening and it all seemingly headed nowhere. In this episode it does at least pick-up slightly, as Doran - who has been conspicuous by his absence for most of the season - finally appears as the ruler of Dorne he supposedly is, and we get a sense of direction as to where its going. Thats good news for Jaime, who had been held captive (albeit in luxury), as hes set to fulfil his mission: take Myrcella back to Kings Landing. Youd be forgiven for forgetting that was the purpose of the whole trip. Hell now be heading back to the capital with his daughter, who gets to at least take her betrothed Prince Trystane along with her, so its all worked out well for the Kingslayer, unless theres a final sting in the tale.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
