Gilly tends to Sams wounds after the attack from his fellow brothers, which leads to the pair kissing and then Sams first sexual experience. Its a great moment for Sam, obviously, and is another way to show his transition into becoming a man like the believes he should be. It is also a great moment for Gilly though, who gets to give something to Sam, who has been nothing but kind and gentle and protective, and show she is still in control of her own sexual destiny. Whether their relationship in this context extends further than this moment isnt clear, although they do obviously have genuine affection for each other, but for now it was a nice moment between two characters who deserve it.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
