Game Of Thrones: 6 Best Moments From Mockingbird

4. Bronn Says Goodbye

After demanding trial by combat, Tyrion unsurprisingly finds a lack of volunteers willing to fight for him. Jaime won't because he feels he isn't good enough given his disability, nor does he want to risk death. So Tyrion defaults to the man who stood for him before, Bronn. Except when Bronn finally visits Tyrion, he finds the sellsword dressed in fine clothing. It turns out Bronn is getting betrothed thanks to his services. Tyrion tries to convince him to fight the Mountain on his behalf, but despite his liking of Tyrion, Bronn has too much at stake to risk it. Tyrion understands, and the two bid farewell to one another, with Bronn hoping to hear a song of how the Halfman defeated the Mountain in the future. This is a very emotional scene because the bromance between Tyrion and Bronn is one of the longest standing of this series. It's very sad to see a falling out, even with the mutual understanding between the two. Since Bronn appears to genuinely like Tyrion more so than his book counterpart, there is a sweetness to this scene that wasn't present in the book, no doubt due to the way Jerome Flynn plays the character. This has been the season of Tyrion's fall, and we see that happening as all his allies abandon him one by one. Bronn is just another casualty in this, even with them going out on good terms. With Bronn now gone, Tyrion's last lifeline is also gone. How can he possibly defeat the Mountain now?
