Game Of Thrones: 7 Best Moments From Breaker Of Chains

1. Dany Declares War On Meereen

Every episode so far this season has saved its best scene for the very last, and this one is no exception. Daenerys and her army finally arrives at Meereen, where they are greeted with a single rider outside the gates. This is Meereen's champion sent out to challenge whoever she chooses in single combat. Dany chooses Daario Naharis, and the two champions meet head on as slaves and slavers watch from the city walls. Daario makes short work of the man, and Dany declares her intentions by catapulting the chains of her previously freed slaves into Meereen as the slavers look on in horror. What's interesting about this scene is the way in which Daenerys actually takes action against the slavers. In Astapor she used a combination of deception and dragon fire to free the Unsullied. Then in Yunkai she had some of her men sneak in, open the doors, and invade. For Meereen, she wisely realizes that she has enough credibility that she can inspire the slaves to take the city for her themselves. She inspires them through speeches and evidence of her past victories. She doesn't need her dragons or the Unsullied to take the city; the slaves can do that for her. It is an incredibly smart strategy that both limits bloodshed and motivates her followers. A fist-pumping scene to end another fantastic episode.
