Game Of Thrones: 7 Big Problems With Season 5
5. Sansa's Storyline
A lot of controversy arose when a Season 5 episode ended with Ramsay Bolton raping Sansa Stark. It was a truly horrifying moment, but at least it seemed like this was setting the stage for Sansa to get her revenge. She has to be beaten down so that when she strikes back, it’s that much more satisfying. That sort of makes sense.
Viewers had been promised that this would be the season Sansa really comes into her own and steps up. And then what was the climax of all that? Sansa stumbles out of her room and Theon rescues her. That’s it.
When she picked up that corkscrew, and a lot of people thought she’d use that to kill Ramsay or do something, that was actually just to open a door. And then she immediately drops it. So in retrospect, Sansa’s storyline this season has essentially boiled down to her being beaten down and tortured week after week only to be saved by someone else.
Let’s just hope the show is still headed towards some Sansa revenge, or if not, it'll at least allow her to do anything on her own. Not ending her Season 5 arc with any sort of victory that she accomplishes herself was a big let down.
