Game Of Thrones: 7 Simple Fixes That Would Have Improved Season 6

1. Let Jon Be A Leader

The Problem: Battle of the Bastards was an amazing feat of filmmaking. Never before has something like that been seen on television and it will be hard for anything to top it soon-- including this show. But while the episode is a technical masterpiece, some have rightly criticized it for its lack of character moments.

The main problem is Jon, the man tasked with leading this vastly outnumbered army. Yet what we see from Jon in this episode is not a great leader, or a great warrior, but an incredibly lucky bastard. At no time do we see Jon make a smart military decision or even lead the army in any way. Instead he almost losses the whole battle when he recklessly charges into battle after being baited by Ramsay. It's a monumentally stupid decision and yet he is still named King in the North.

The Solution: The more interesting play would be for Jon to let Rickon die for the sake of the greater good. It would have been a strong character moment for Jon and one that reinforced that he was a changed man after his resurrection.

Also, show Jon to be a brilliant military mind. The battle didn't need to be so one-sided. Jon could have outsmarted Ramsay but still been close to defeat by simply being outnumbered. That way you can still have the last minute rescue from the Knights of the Vale, and Jon can look like someone who deserves to be King in the North.

What changes would you have made to Season 6, or is it pretty much perfect? Share your thoughts down in the comments.
