Game Of Thrones: 7 Things That "The House Of Black And White" Did Right (And 3 It Didn't)
6. Braavos
Ever since the introduction of the late lamented Syrio Forel in Season 1 and the mention by Jaqen H’gar in Season 2, Braavos across the Narrow Sea from Westeros has seemed an inevitable destination for young Arya Stark. Her arrival in Braavos in “The House of Black and White” may finally allow her to seize some agency in her own life.
Even if that storyline is a miserable failure, at least Braavos looks amazing. A city that appears as though it was born of an unholy union between King’s Landing and Venice, the canals and crowds beyond the grand Titan statue and population intrigued from first glimpse. It is truly a place where a person such as Arya of House Stark could easily disappear in the bustle and live the rest of her days as an exile.
As that would not be very interesting, however, Arya’s ongoing mission to enact bloody revenge on everybody who has ever wronged her promises some refreshing developments to a character who spent the majority of her time on the show being toted around as somebody’s prisoner in the Westerosi riverlands.
