7. The Land Of Always Winter
What, exactly, are the White Walkers? It's a question that's never really answered. They're human-like in form, only made of ice, possess magic abilities, and are damn-near impossible to kill. While we may never find out what they are, we do at least know where they come from, and the language they speak (Skroth, which sounds like ice cracking). Far beyond the Wall, at the northernmost point of the known world, is the Land of Always Winter. As the name suggests, it's, well, always winter, and a perpetually frozen place that remains mostly unexplored. It's widely believed that this is where the Others originate from, as hinted at with Bran's vision: "And he looked past the Wall...to the curtain of light at the end of the world, and then beyond that curtain. He looked deep into the heart of winter, and then he cried out, afraid, and the heat of his tears burned on his cheeks." It seems likely that he's seeing the Land of Always Winter, and is afraid because of the Others. There have also been rumours that we will get to see this at some point on the show, which would be beyond awesome. Winter is coming.
