Game Of Thrones: 8 Characters Who Should Get POVs In The Winds Of Winter

1. Hodor

Who Is He? - Hodor needs no introduction. Why Should He Have A POV? - As Hodor is only capable of saying the word 'Hodor', a chapter consisting solely of his thoughts and hundreds of utterances of the word would be a riveting read... Who am I kidding? Let us move onto the real number one.

1. Howland Reed

Who Is He? - Howland Reed is one of the most important characters in the series, though he has yet to be formally introduced to readers. As one of Eddard Stark's vassals during Robert's Rebellion, Howland accompanied his liege Lord (with four others) to the Tower of Joy in Dorne following Robert Baratheon's capture of King's Landing, with their objective being the rescue of Eddard's sister Lyanna. Finding her guarded by three members of the Kinsguard, Eddard, Howland and their companions battled the trio, ending as the only men left standing. After this, they found a dying Lyanna, who extracted a promise from her brother with her dying words. Why Should He Have A POV? - Following Eddard's death at Joffrey's hand, Howland is the last individual with knowledge of what happened in the Tower of Joy, but has not left his seat in The Neck since returning from the location. Whilst alive, Robb Stark sent three bannermen in search of the man, but nothing has been heard from two of them since whilst the third has returned to his own castle. Lyanna's promise is widely believed to concern Jon Snow, who is speculated to be the son of her and Rhaegar Targaryen, rather than a bastard son of Eddard. Given the enormity of this revelation, it would make sense for it be officially confirmed firsthand by Howland himself.
