Game Of Thrones: 8 Ways Season 6 Spoilt The Winds Of Winter (And 3 It Didn't)

1. We Still Don't Know What's Happening With Lady Stoneheart, Brienne, And Jaime

Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in. After Lady Stoneheart didn't appear in the Season 4 finale, and then again failed to materialise in Season 5, I (along with most other fans) had given up any hope of the character appearing on the show. And then in Season 6, they started teasing her arrival again. The Brotherhood were mentioned, there were numerous references to Catelyn, people were coming back from the dead all over the place, the Freys came back into it, and Brienne and Jaime were both headed to the Riverlands.

And then Beric Dondarrion appeared, and all hope was lost again. Brienne sailed away, and Jaime was back in King's Landing by the end of the season. There's still the slightest of chances they could introduce the character, but it's really time to give up on it again. The good news is it means that, when The Winds of Winter is finally released, we can experience this story very fresh, with little idea of where it's all headed (if anywhere).

In the books, Brienne has been given the ultimateum of killing Jaime Lannister, or at least bringing him to Lady Stoneheart, or drying herself. The last we see of her storyline she's finding Jaime at his camp in the Riverlands, and telling him a story about Sansa being with the Hound and needing to find her, and that they must go together, without any backup, otherwise the Hound will kill Sansa. Given that Sansa is in the Vale at this stage, still going by the name Alayne, and the Hound is believed dead (though Lem Lemoncloak is using his helm), it's pretty clearly a lie, which indicates Brienne may well be taking Jaime to Lady Stoneheart, and we don't know how any of that is going to play out.

Can you think of any other ways Season 6 spoilt (or didn't spoil) The Winds of Winter? Share your thoughts down in the comments.
