How Shee First Appears The big thing about Shae is her commitment to monogamy. As her relationship with Tyrion develops, it is initially surprising and thrilling. For a prostitute and a promiscuous dwarf, that's really something! However, Shae quickly turns into another character who moves from being universally loved by viewers, to one who is universally loathed. What She Becomes In fairness, the pressures that cause her character to change are pretty unique. When Tyrion returns to King's Landing it is impossible that they remain together in public. Therefore she becomes a maid to his betrothed, Sansa - so far, so good. The trouble is, a jealousy beings to develop in her mind that Tyrion really loves Sansa after all. So committed is she to her lover that she fails to comprehend much of what Tyrion does is done to save her life. Ultimately she tries to have him killed and then sleeps with his father for good measure. Amazingly, this is all done out of crazy love. It's one of the most emotional moments of show (and certainly one of the most surprising) when Tyrion is forced to kill her.
