How He First Appears No-one could have guessed that this fresh faced young boy would go on to become the show's purest symbol of total evil. It's hard to believe a farm boy who witnesses the death of his entire family at the hands of a wildling horde could be anything but sympathetic... but here we are. We first come across Olly in Season 4, fleeing the wildlings, and eventually making his way to Castle Black. Jon saves him and even makes him steward, only to have this good deed thrown emphatically back in his face. What He Becomes The thing is, Olly gradually changes from being unquestionably loyal to his master, to resenting and ultimately murdering him. His inability to understand forgiveness or the complexity of his hero's position within the Night's Watch results in Jon's untimely demise. What's more, he even kills Ygritte at the Battle of Castle Black. A character who at first inspires pity and sympathy in the viewer, has at this point become a universal hate sponge. Who knows if there's a chance of redemption next season!
