Game Of Thrones Finale: 10 Characters No One Expected To Make It To The End

5. Robin Arryn

Robin Arryn likely won’t be a part of the finale (unless that's who Varys was writing to), but it’s still staggering that the snot-nosed brat has survived this long in any case.

That said, he’s got a significantly higher chance of appearing than Illyrio Mopatis. It’s clear these past two seasons have been a little rushed, and it feels like it would have made more sense to have The Long Night as one season finale, Daenerys destroying King’s Landing as the next season finale and then a whole season between that and whatever the ultimate ending is.

This would’ve allowed for much more development all round, offering more depth on the Night King, Daenerys’ descent into madness and then the aftermath.

A key part of that could’ve been the Knights of the Vale. Royce has been popping up now and then this series to remind us of their existence, but to no real avail. Perhaps they’re to show Sansa holds power?

With limited screen time for them, Robin Arryn has been cut completely.

He’s not been particularly missed; he’s a deeply unpleasant character who never garnered many fans, even ironically. It definitely would have been satisfying to watch him fly through the moon door though.
