Game Of Thrones: House Of The Dragon - 10 Reasons To Be Excited

9. No More Bad Writing

Even the staunchest defender of Game of Thrones would have to admit that the further the show runners diverted from the original source material of George RR Martin's novels, the more the overall quality began to fall off. Martin has yet to finish the sixth and seventh books in his series, meaning the show runners had to get creative with the fates of several characters.

Unfortunately, they got it horribly wrong; look no further than their appalling handling of Daenerys. A show that spent eight seasons building up The Mother of Dragons as one of the most compelling characters on TV, a dragon riding liberator queen in a landscape dominated by kings. When the literal dust had cleared, her entire character arc had been destroyed in four rushed episodes, turning her into a murderous, megalomaniacal tyrant for no other reason than to tie ends up neatly.

Martin has concluded Fire and Blood, upon which House of the Dragon is based, and is heavily involved in production. It is hard to imagine that the previous mistakes of wasteful character development will be repeated here. Fire and Blood is an absolutely incredible story; rammed full of twists and turns, jaw dropping deaths, and sensational betrayals. Fans can look forward to a spectacular viewing experience.
