Game Of Thrones: How The Battle Of Winterfell Should Have Gone
After surviving the flames though, the night king just stares at Jon, and pulls out his sword. We’ve already had all their stare downs in other episodes, and him nearly getting him at the start of the episode, but this feels like a challenge. Jon lands Rheagal, dismounts, and draws.
He slowly marches towards him and, when he’s halfway there.
Just like in the episode he raises the dead but this time he’s outsmarted Jon. He’s trapped him. Jon hesitates then charges him, trying to end it but he just doesn’t get there. We then get the exact same save as we got in the show but again, no Dany or Drogon, just Rheagal acting on his own. Jon then races back to Winterfell to try and save Bran.
We should also have seen everyone’s eyes reopen here but, especially, Beric's.
Down in the crypts will play out pretty much exactly the same except now you’ve got Sam here and, probably should have mentioned this already, Ghost. Ghost tears at the reanimated Starks but they claim victim after victim. Sam, in a moment not seen since he killed that first White, shows the courage required to save Gilly.
