Game Of Thrones: Is Gendry Really Cersei Lannister's Son?

4. Cersei Seemingly Didn't Care About Baratheon Bastards Being Murdered

Gendry leaves King's Landing because it's no longer safe for him. Joffrey, with his father dead and rumours that his real dad is Jaime, has all of Robert's bastards killed in case anyone thinks one might have a better claim to the Iron Throne than he does.

In the books, this goes down a little differently, because it is actually Cersei who orders the massacre. In the show it's Joffrey, which could perhaps have been changed so Cersei doesn't order the death of her own child, but working against that is the fact she is aware of what's happening, knows people don't like it and that it heightens suspicions regarding her and Jaime, and absolutely does not care.

Given her love for her children is what defines her and makes her human, would she really have such a callous response if there was a chance a child she'd birthed was at risk?
