Reason To Be Concerned...

1. The Potential Winds Of Winter Impact

George R.R Martin has himself played down his own involvement with the series, and in fairness it is Goldman's show, not his. He's also insisted that The Winds of Winter remains his priority.

However, it's also hard not to think - especially after so many years of disappointment - that this new show won't be taking up a decent amount of his time, especially if it gets picked up to series. Should that happen then he'll no doubt be more involved in consulting and helping to shape the story, even if he doesn't actually write a screenplay himself.

With Fire & Blood Vol. 1 out this year and this pilot now on the way, it's another thing to potentially delay the long-gestating The Winds of Winter. Okay, so it's not a worry about the prequel series directly, but it's another reason to believe book six isn't coming anytime soon (as if there weren't enough already). A relatively minor concern, though, when compared to how exciting this series sounds for the most part, but a concern nonetheless.
