Game Of Thrones Prequel: 9 Reasons To Be Excited (& 1 To Be Concerned)
7. Mysteries Of The East
Perhaps the most intriguing line in the series description is "mysteries of the East."
The series is shaping up to be another that's Westeros-centric, which only adds to the allure of this little tease and what it might mean.
It could be the beginnings of the Rise of Valyria, showing how Valyria won power from the Old Ghiscari Empire with the use of dragons, or at least the discovery of dragons themselves, which would allow the series to give regular viewers their fire-breathing fix.
Alternatively, it could go deeper into Asshai and the Shadow Lands, or Yi Ti, all of which remain shrouded in mystery and few accounts are known of. There's a huge world to the east of Westeros, and it's hardly been explored beyond the Faceless Men of Bravvos, the Dothraki, and Slaver's Bay. The prequel is a chance to change all that and shed light on some of the most fascinating of Martin's lands.
