The Children of the Forest, the First Men, and the Andals, the Targaryen dynasty... rulers, conquerors, empires, kings and queens have all been and gone over the last few thousand years, but the Night's Watch and the Wall have remained.

Its formation is dated sometime during the Long Night, with the brothers of the Watch fighting against the White Walkers in the Battle for the Dawn, and Bran the Builder erecting the Wall to protect the Seven Kingdoms.

We've seen Jon Snow elected the 998th Lord Commander, but here's a chance to see #1, along with the vows being made for the first time as the Night's Watch is formed; not as a motley crew of rapists and thieves, but genuinely honourable, noble men. Season 7 may have brought the Wall down, but the prequel series has a chance to put it up again, showing just how such an incredible, almost impossible feat was actually managed.
