Game Of Thrones: Ranking The Probability Of Every Character Death At The Battle Of Winterfell

17. The Hound

Game Of Thrones Hound
HBO

The Hound was brought back after an extended hiatus, and it remains to be seen exactly why.

Him looking into the flames and seeing the army of the dead suggests that his purpose is to fight the White Walkers, which he'll be doing at a Winterfell bathed in the flames he fears so much. Him overcoming those fears, to, say, save Arya or Sansa in battle, would be quite a fitting way for him to go.

At the same time, the show dropped a very heavy reference to a showdown with his brother, and Cleganebowl does very much seem like the kind of fan-service the showrunners would want to do. Him saving Arya is good. Her killing him as an act of mercy after he fights his brother is perhaps even better.

Chance Of Death: 5/10
