4. Dame Diana Rigg Olenna Tyrell
When Dame Diana Rigg was cast as Olenna, I was understandably excited. Shes one of Britains greatest living actresses and the chance to basically plant Maggie Smiths Downton Dowager Duchess in Westeros was too good an opportunity to miss. And, boy she didnt disappoint. Olenna basically took Tyrions old job this season of turning up and treating everything with heroic disdain. She crossed swords with big beasts such as Varys and Tyrion and clearly won, sending the Spider scuttling away and the Half-Man into a semi-depression. The only person who could break her streak of pithy put-downs was the malevolent Tywin Lannister, and she still verbally spanked him and broke his quill in half. The fact of the matter is that every scene Rigg was in was a good one, and as a cog in the Westeros political machine, she got plenty of use. She lit up Westeros like a beacon of razor-sharp wit, and
even declared herself a Stark fangirl while she was at it. The only thing that kept her from placing even higher was that she just sort of disappeared before the last two episodes. Lets hope we see her back again.
