Game of Thrones Season 3: 10 Characters Who Underwhelmed

1. Shae

Shae Oh come on, who else could it be? Really, actress Sibel Kileki is on a hiding to nothing with this role. She can perform as well as she possibly can €“ which is astoundingly well, she€™s an award-winning actress €“ but she€™ll always be seen as nothing but a weight stopping Tyrion from being truly awesome. And as we all know, anything which gets in the way of Tyrion€™s awesome-ness will feel the wrath of the Game of Thrones fan community, and we are legion and unforgiving. Shae received a slightly beefed up role in the transition from page to screen yet we can€™t really put our finger on why €“ her added scenes make her come across as one-dimensional, annoying and easy to fly off the handle, which are hardly the most endearing character traits. She appears to get annoyed all the time with Tyrion€™s impossible situation, even though she knows there€™s nothing he can do about it. Her anger just appears so pointless, and most Thrones fans I know want her to take a long walk off a short pier, and I can€™t say I blame them. Unfortunately, from the last episode of Thrones we can see that Shae€™s going to be around for the long haul next season, and we€™re just going to have to grin and bear it. Can she get any worse? Oh, I bet so.
