The storyline in King’s Landing was particularly exceptional. Joffrey’s death, Tyrion’s trial, the legendary battle between the Mountain and the Viper, and the death of Tywin and Shae at the hands of Tyrion made for an outstanding storyline.
Season 4 also offered plenty of time with Arya and the Hound. This iconic duo were always entertaining, particularly as they were constantly at loggerheads with one another.
More generally, the fourth season had a huge number of significant character deaths. One of the key criticisms of the later seasons was that too many characters appeared to have plot armour. Season 4, on the other hand, continuously kept the audience on edge.
