8. Roose Bolton
The humorless leader of House Bolton was at the heart of one of the most traitorous and cold-blooded massacres ever portrayed on television. The notorious Red Wedding brought Roose Bolton from the background and turned him into a major player in the politics of Westeros. He's now ruling the North from Winterfell and has just laid waste to Stannis Baratheon and his army. Roose's son Ramsay is so inherently devious that he immediately steals any scene he's in, especially when paired with his stonefaced father. The Bolton bastard may actually be the most compelling villain on a show full of them and we'd like to see more of him on our TVs. Unfortunately for Roose, that means he probably has to go. Ramsay will no doubt be seething with rage over the escape of his two playthings, Reek and Sansa Stark, and watching him implode next season should be a hell of a ride. The seeds have been planted in his mind for dissension between he and his father and an unhinged Ramsay may do what's necessary to ensure that he remains the heir to House Bolton and the banner of the flayed man. Besides, Roose isn't critical to the plot as long as someone representing his house remains in Winterfell and I'd much rather it be the loose cannon Ramsay than his measured, calculated - and boring - father.
