Game Of Thrones Season 6: 10 Ups And 2 Downs From 'Battle Of The Bastards'
2. Sansa Stark And The Hounds Of Doom
It had to be Sansa.
Jon Snow approaching Ramsay Bolton, deflecting all of his arrows, and then beating him to a bloody pulp was ridiculously satisfying. More so than if it had happened on the battlefield, or with swords rather than fists, there was something so horribly pleasing about seeing Jon punch Ramsay's face over and over and over again. But he knew as well as the viewers that it wasn't his kill to make. Sure, Ramsay was his enemy in the battle, and he wanted retribution for his family, but he only met his fellow bastard in this very episode. Sansa suffered him for an entire season, and was abused and violated by him in the worst ways imaginable.
It had to be Sansa. Or Theon, I guess, but getting him to Winterfell would've meant taking some major narrative leaps that, ultimately, wouldn't have worked.
The way it happened was exactly how many fans imagined it would be too. Finding him in a cell, she begins by verbally tearing him apart, showing that he can't hurt her again, can't hurt anyone, and that he will be forgotten. Sansa has been undergoing a transformation for some time now, and the way she stares down Ramsay here, with those cold eyes, and is unflinching as she uses his favourite attack method against him, says that the transformation from the young girl to Lady Stark is complete.
