Game Of Thrones Season 6: 10 Ups And 2 Downs From 'Oathbreaker'
1. Tower Of Joy
It finally happened. A sequence mentioned via Ned Stark's thoughts in the books, and teased in the Season 6 trailers, the Raid on the Tower of Joy came to our screens this week, and in terms of the fight it did not disappoint.
Ned Stark arrives with fiveof his men, to take on three members of King Aerys II Targaryen's Kingsguard, and a brutal swordfight quickly ensues. It's fast-paced, bloody and chaotic, but also displays some really exciting fight choreography.
The highlight undoubtedly comes when it comes down to just Ser Arthur Dayne to take on numerous opponents, and the show does a great job of establishing him as the greatest knight in Westeros as he defeats them with his duel swords (if there's one criticism of the fight, it's that we didn't get a proper version of Dawn). Then there are the final moments, with Bran wondering just how his father's going to win, and Howland Reed steps up to stab Dayne from behind. It's a surprise, because of how honourable Ned Stark is, but it represents a great climax to the fight, and unfortunately is almost the end of the Tower of Joy scene.
