Game Of Thrones Season 6: 10 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Broken Man'
Downs...
2. Arya Getting Stabbed
Yes, the Waif's attack on Arya provided some thrills and shock, but it wasn't entirely a great moment, for a couple of different reasons. The first is that, well, it's Arya getting stabbed, and we've seen her subjected to plenty of violence already that it's hard to take her having to suffer much more. Also, while there is some initial shock, there's also no way that they're going to kill Arya Stark off at this point (or any point before the final few episodes of the series), so you know we're not witnessing her death here.
More than both of those, though, is the fact that it makes Arya look like a bit of an idiot. She may have rejected the Faceless Men, but she's still had plenty of training before now. And Jaqen warned her what would happen if she didn't kill Lady Crane: her face would end up on the wall. As in, she would be killed. So surely she knew (and sitting in the dark with Needle seemed like an indicator of this) that they would be after her, and yet she simply stands there as a creepy old woman approaches her. Come on, Arya, you're better than that.
