Game Of Thrones Season 6: 10 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Broken Man'

1. A Quieter Episode

This episode was good. While Game of Thrones is known for big set-pieces, lots of action, and brutal deaths, it's long-since proved that it can do the smaller scale stuff just as well: the character interactions and political machinations are just as key a part of this show as dragons and White Walkers are.

However, this episode felt a little too quiet. Although there was a big reveal, there wasn't an awful lot that seemed to be happening. It's still in the process of setting things up, and as such this episode (bar Sandor Clegane) was just a bit too still. Most of the scenes and storylines this week were entertaining to watch, but didn't quite advance things all that much.

The last three episode's are promising a mighty payoff, and this is all fairly standard stuff for Game of Thrones, but it means this episode can't be as good as what will come after it.
