Game Of Thrones Season 6: 10 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Red Woman'
2. Brienne Finally Gets Her Moment
Ah yes, Brienne saving the day. That was a great moment, both for the character and the show.
While she became a popular figure thanks to her partnership with Jaime, she's been ill-served recently, left wandering around the wilderness, and it was particularly the case last year when she stayed in one spot watching a window for most of the season, only to leave at the crucial moment.
Sure, she got to kill Stannis, but even that fatal moment played out without actually seeing it properly. This, then, was a correction for all that, as she rode in at exactly the right time to slay the Bolton men and save Sansa Stark.
The pledge she made, and Sansa's acceptance, was even better. Brienne is one of the few truly good characters around, and this felt like a big occasion for her, one that was very hard-earned (just imagine if Sansa had accepted her offer last season instead) and tinged with poignancy for both of them (while having Pod on hand helps pretty much any scene).
