Game Of Thrones Season 6: 25 Most Epic Moments
2. Cersei's Revenge
The wildfire hidden in King's Landing has been a Chekhov's Gun since Jaime revealed their existence in Season 3. Since then it's not been a matter of "if" but rather "when" they would be set off.
The whole sequence was masterfully done in every way. The music and editing provided a tense atmosphere which grew more and more epic as we started to understand what was happening. Of course, the explosion of the sept was the highlight, but the sequence had so many good points. Qyburn's oddly sad farewell to Pycell before unleashing his 'little birds' on the old maester. Margaery realizing there was soemthing amiss before anyone else. Cersei's gleeful revenge on Septa Unella.
This was Cersei at her most diabolical, moving the chess pieces on the board and getting everything she could have wanted. Of course, Tommen had to ruin everything and jump out the window, but all things considered, it wasn't a bad day for Cersei.
