George R.R Martin's A Game of Thrones was released in 1996 and since then, people have been wondering what happened at the Tower of Joy. For the sake of efficiency, we'll look at the two Tower of Joy flashbacks as one sequence, because they both offer quite a lot of epicness in different ways.

First, the fight between Ned's forces and the two Kingsguard is easily the best sword action we've gotten from the show. While we've been told that Barristan Selmy and The Blackfish are legendary warriors, they really needed to show the skill of Arthur Dayne. It was also interesting to see the truth behind the legends as Ned Stark's victory was not as noble as the stories would have you think.

As for the secret of what's inside the tower, the show was met with a problem similar to Jon's resurrection. So many people knew the secret that just coming out and saying it would have been dull, while they still needed to make sure the reveal was clear. They handled that problem exceptionally well with the awesome transition between infant to Jon Snow leaving no doubt in anyone's mind.

One of the most important moments in the show's history and one that will impact that entire story going forward.
