The rape of Sansa last season proved to be one of the most controversial moments of the show. It was yet another traumatic experience for a character who's already suffered enough. Since then, viewers have been waiting for Sansa to escape the role of the victim.

The scene in which Sansa meets with Littlefinger for the first time since he sold her to the Boltons is a powerful demonstration how Sansa been chnaged by her experiences from the timid, polite girl in Season 1. Littlefinger is an expert of manipulating situations to his advantage but here, Sansa has the upper hand and doesn't give him an inch of wiggle room. She forces Littlefinger to imagine exactly what Ramsay did to her, and when he tries to take the easy way out, she shows him that won't be an option.

For all the criticism the show gets for its depiction of rape, it was very important that they handle this storyline well. Sansa is not afraid, ashamed or embarrassed to talk about what happened to her and she certainly isn't going to let other people forget what happened to her just because it's uncomfortable to talk about. It's an incredibly strong moment for Sansa and one of the best moments for her character, period.
