Game Of Thrones Season 6: 7 Things You Might've Missed In 'The Door'

4. And The References Within It

As well as playing home to a number of cameos, it was also the grounding for a few great little references to both the past and the future of the series.

One highlight is when Tyrion slaps Joffrey, twice, which is something that isn't likely to have made the history books, but probably gets its place because of the popularity of the moment among fans (I'm not sure there's a more gifed (giffed? gif'd?) moment in the entire series).

Then there's the line delivered by Cersei: "I feel the winds of winter as they lick across the land." This works on a few different levels: firstly, it's a direct shoutout of the upcoming book's title; secondly, it could apply to the show moving beyond the books this year; third, winter is here; and finally, this entire play is taken straight from the book, as it happens in the already-released Arya chapter (although she's a part of it there).
