7. The Basics
Euron is the younger brother to Balon Greyjoy, Lord of the Iron Islands, also brother to Victarion and Aeron, and uncle to Yara and Theon. He's described as being a very handsome man, with long dark hair and a beard, but his most notable feature has to be the eye patch he wears over his left eye. According to Theon, this conceals a "black eye shining with malice," while his right eye is said to be bright blue, and is regarded as his smiling eye. Along with his brothers and father he belatedly joined Robert's Rebellion, but when their father was killed the Greyjoy sons all sailed back to the Iron Isles. Balon, assuming his father's position as Lord, later banished Euron after he raped Victarion's wife.
