1. Jon's Awakening Mirrors Bran's

So, yes, *that* moment. It was major, and it's going to have big repercussions throughout Season 6. It was also rather familiar.

The way Jon awoke, which was with a very sudden opening of the eyes, is a mirroring of the way Bran woke up back in Season 2, which also happened to be the second episode of the season. I'm not sure whether this has further meaning, but it could be related to Bran's visions and what he'll learn about Jon.

Those visions actually offer another parallel to Jon's awakening, as it's similar to when Bran wakes up at the beginning of this episode too. There, the Three-Eyed Raven mentions drowning, and Jon wakes up gasping for breath as if he too had been beneath the sea.
