Game Of Thrones Season 6: Every Death (So Far) Ranked Worst To Best

Hodors condition was always counted as one of the most casual mysteries in Game Of Thrones lore: for it to be solved in such a stunning, tragic fashion was almost unthinkable. And despite the heavy cost of that revelation, it was a truly affecting and rather brilliant moment.

It was Game Of Thrones' Dobby moment, only with the added tragic note that Hodor knew for basically his entire life when and how he was going to die. Take that in for a moment: his fear in battle wasn't because he was a coward, it was because as soon as the white walkers appeared, he knew his days were numbers, and yet he still went with Bran. Even worse, his young master bloody forced him to fight more than once, the little monster.

While it was awful to see him fall, it was a fitting end for the gentle giant, and some of that might account for why I was crying so much when it happened.

Tragically, the explanation that Bran affected Hodor also kills the idea that Bran can actually go back and save the world at a past date. No matter what he does, the outcome is already set and no matter how he changes the past, he wont ever be able to bring back anyone he loves who is already dead.

Rather brilliantly, this could also suggest that Bran is the Lord Of Light and the creator of everything that has happened to this point, leaping through time whispering to key characters to set the wheels in motion.
