3. Her Family Home Has Been Taken

It's hard to shake the idea that the death of the Blackfish and the fall of Riverrun to the Freys is the perfect narrative launching point for Lady Stoneheart to start her torrent of vengeance.

With The Hound, she now has a powerful military weapon (which could explain why she's waited this long), but the Lannister's taking of Riverrun, the betrayal of her brother and the murder of her uncle would represent the perfect opportunity to bring her into the game.

The Freys feel like they're in the ascendancy, which would piss her off royally, and it just so happens that both Brienne and Podrick are in the area having fled into the Riverlands from Jaime. That sets up the fateful meeting between Brienne and Lady Stoneheart rather too nicely for it to be a total coincidence.
