Game Of Thrones Season 6 Finale: 8 Things You Might've Missed In 'The Winds Of Winter'

That Tommen died in Season 6 shouldn't really be a surprise, for a number of reasons.

Firstly, he was a useless King, and too naive and innocent to be able to survive long in this world. He then dragged himself into the conflict by joining with the High Sparrow, marking an obvious target on his back.

Then there's the fact that Joffrey died in Season 4, and Myrcella in Season 5. With the show gradually stripping everything away from Cersei, it fit that Tommen would be the next thing she'd lose, allowing her to become a true villain in Season 7.

Finally, Maggy the Frog's prophecy said all Cersei's children would die, but more specifically: "Gold shall be their crowns and gold their shrouds."

The gold more refers to their hair colour, and then the shrouds they're wrapped in, but Tommen gives a literal representation of this in his final moments, wearing a golden crown and robe when he decided to take a leap out of the window.

Also: new meaning to King's Landing, eh? Haha. Gettit? Because King, and landing...let's move on.
