R+L=J. It's a fan theory that's been running almost as long as A Song of Ice and Fire has, and - while not yet confirmed in the books - it was made official in Season 6 of the show.

It's a moment fans of both have longed to see, and it worked brilliantly on screen. Now, though, the question turns to just when and how Jon Snow will be finding out that he's not Ned Stark's bastard, but the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen.

For the when, it'd be a real surprise if it wasn't this season. It's too big of a reveal to leave hanging until Season 8, and the show will almost certainly have Jon discover the truth this year, especially as it brings him and Daenerys together.

The how is less clear. One real possibility is that Bran tells him, since he witnessed the scene. However, the theory that Jon discovers the truth in the crypts of Winterfell is a far more enticing prospect, and we have seen some shots of him down there, so that could well be the case.
