Game Of Thrones Season 7: 12 Big Questions After 'The Queen's Justice'

9. Will Sam Discover Something Important In Those Books?

After just a couple of episodes in the Citadel, Jorah Mormont is fully cured. It was so simple that it's quite remarkable there are so many Stone Men running around the ruins of Valyria, but also a testament to Sam's character and courage, which past Maesters have apparently lacked.

His 'reward' is a large pile of dusty old books to copy over, which is intended as something of a punishment, given it's an incredibly boring task, but surely anything beats those chamber pots.

It's also quite a pointed scene, and it seems unlikely there won't be more to those books Archmaester Ebrose gives Sam. Ever since he announced he was on his way to Oldtown it's been anticipated that he'd make some big discovery, and that remains the case even though he has found out about dragonglass (something we already knew) and cured greyscale (which doesn't have the wide-reaching impact that's expected).

So will Sam discover something important in those books? And, since that seems likely, perhaps a better question is what will that be? Are we going to see a discovery about making Valyrian steel, or could those tomes hold something else?
